Our Bureau

Bangalore , June 3

THE President of ING Vysya Bank, Mr V. Raghunathan has put in his papers.

He will be leaving the bank in August, according to the bank's news release.

However, the release did not detail Mr Raghunathan's new assignment.

Mr Raghunathan had joined the then Vysya Bank in early 2001, after 20 years of a teaching stint at IIM, Ahmedabad.

Mr Raghunathan said in the release that his incremental contribution to the bank would be limited, following its bid to align with ING's international practices and systems.

Citing his reasons to quit the bank, he felt banking professionals were more conversant with international practices.
