World rubber meet on June 17

WORLD Rubber Congress 2004, a two-day event that brings together rubber growers, traders, users and other stakeholders of the rubber industry, will begin here on June 17.

"We expect 300 to 350 participants for the event. Foreign delegates would be 25-30," said Mr Kailash Singh, Managing Director of Tefla's Conferences and Events Pvt Ltd, organisers of the Congress.

Mr Singh said the Congress is being conceived as an annual event. An exhibition of the industry and trade is also being held simultaneously showcasing the latest materials and technology in the industry.

During the Congress issues such as global trade dynamics, rubber price, demand-supply scenario, futures trading of the commodity and other emerging trends will be discussed.

Policy, trade, technology, challenges, supply, demand forecast, integrating India with the world rubber economy and Rubber: Vision 2010 are the key topics for the event.

On rubber futures, major commodity exchanges such as NMCE, NCDEX and MCX will make presentation on the futures trading in rubber.
