Our Bureau

New Delhi , June 8

THE employees' unions of IFCI Ltd has threatened to go on agitation if the Government presses ahead with the merger of the institution with Punjab National Bank (PNB).

"If this proposed merger of IFCI with PNB, which is without the concurrence of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) and Parliament, is not stopped with immediate effect, the entire staff of IFCI may resort to agitation," Mr Ram Khobragade, Convenor, Coordination Committee of All India IFCI Officers' and Employees' Associations, said in a statement.

Mr Khobragade once again demanded that the Government should instead explore the possibility of merger of IFCI with IDBI.
