New Delhi , June 10

BRITISH Airways has come out with special low fares from Chennai and Kolkata to destinations in the UK, the US, Canada, Frankfurt and Munich.

The special fares, which are about 10 per cent lower, are for travel in the `World Traveller' or economy class. The offer is valid till July 15, and will only be available if the passenger books a return ticket. Among the cities to which the offer is available in the UK, include London, Aberdeen, Glasgow and Manchester, while in the US, the passenger can travel to New York, Boston, Washington and Philadelphia, among other cities. Besides, the offer is also valid for travel to Montreal and Toronto, in Canada, and Frankfurt and Munich, in Germany.

The airline is to allow one stop in London on the special low fares from the two Indian cities.

Besides, it has also introduced special one-way fares with excess baggage allowance for students wanting to travel to the UK, the US or Canada. The airline will offer 20 kg excess baggage allowance to students travelling to the UK and Europe, while those proceeding to the US and Canada will be allowed one piece of 32 kg.

The out-bound travel on the special student promotion will be completed by October 31. However, unlike the special low fares to the UK, the US and Canada which is available only from Chennai and Kolkata, the student offer is valid from four points including Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata and Mumbai. The airline has also tied up with Air Sahara to offer better connectivity for students from different parts of the country.
