Nortel incentive plan for partners

Our Bureau

Chennai , June 11

NORTEL Networks India hopes to have about 100 bronze partners by the year-end from the present 40.

One of the ways it plans to achieve this is through a recently launched points scheme for its channel partners.

Called Nortel Networks OverDrive, the scheme offers prizes such as Hyundai Accent, Wagon R and Sony Digital Camcorder to channel partners. However, to win this, partners need to accumulate certain points by selling Nortel products. Starting from June 1, the scheme is valid for a year, said a company official.

This is the first time that the global firm has launched an India-specific incentive programme for channel partners, said Mr Sanjay Jotshi, Director, Marketing and Channels, Nortel Networks India. Nortel Networks' channel network is based on a two-tier model, with Ingram Micro being the national distributor. It also has system integrators like Wipro.

The partners are categorised depending on a company's revenue and size. Mr Jotshi declined to give financial details of the firm.
