SBT raises rates on FCNR deposits

STATE Bank of Travancore has raised its interest rates on foreign currency non-resident (FCNR) deposits made for periods from one to three years.

The revised interest rates will come into force on June 14 and will be applicable to all term deposits in US dollars, euros and pound sterling, says a bank press release.

For dollar and euro deposits made for a period exceeding one year but less than two years, the rate will be 2.18 per cent, while the rate on pound sterling deposits will be 5.08 per cent, the release states.

The interest rate on dollar deposits for periods between two and three years will be 3.04 per cent, while euro and pound sterling deposits will earn 2.75 per cent and 5.25 per cent respectively. The interest rate on three-year deposits will be 3.59 per cent for dollar, 3.12 per cent for euro and 5.33 per cent for pound sterling.,
