Spot rubber prices firm up

SPOT rubber market firmed up further on Monday.

The covering groups and purchase agents continued to absorb the sparse arrivals amidst intensified rains all over the plantations. According to analysts, the market is heading towards the all-time high closing of Rs 67 recorded on June 10, 1995. Futures also gained. The near month July delivery was quoted at Rs.62.72 (Rs 62.03), August at Rs 60.25 (Rs 59.84) and September at Rs 58.54 (Rs 58.32) per kg for RSS 4. The spot market rates per kg were: RSS 4 Rs 64 (Rs 63.00), RSS 5 Rs 61 (Rs 60.50), ungraded Rs 60 (Rs 60), ISNR 20 Rs 57.50 (Rs 57.25) and latex 60% Rs 47 (Rs 46.50)
