Budget expectations

Perhaps, "Budget: Will high expectations be met?"(Business Line, June 21) is the question uppermost in everybody's mind. The Budget is to be based on the Common Minimum Programme.

It is to be pro-poor and pro-farmer. The stress is to be on agriculture, employment, education and public distribution system. The government has to make up for the political fallout in respect of petroleum product price rise.
