Our Bureaus

New Delhi/Mumbai , July 3

NATIONAL Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) has achieved a milestone by deploying 500 VSATs across 127 centres in the country, enabling over 250 of its members to undertake online commodity trading.

As a part of this project, HCL Comnet, apart from base implementation, will monitor and maintain the VSAT network for NCDEX from its central hub in Noida (near Delhi).

"The VSAT network has been set up in a record time of 75 days covering urban and semi-urban areas, including all major commodity markets such as Kochi, Ahmedabad, Surat, Nagpur and Jaipur, making NCDEX the largest online commodity exchange of India," according to HCL Comnet statement.

Commenting on the project, Mr Ravi Kumar, Managing Director of NCDEX said, "At NCDEX, our endeavour is to utilise latest technology to enable seamless information flow among our members. HCL Comnet's technical expertise and their ability to deliver within time lines, were some of the key criterions for choosing them as our VSAT partner."

NCDEX Ltd is an online nationwide, multi-commodity, demutualised commodity exchange with strong institutional shareholding.
