Bus strike plan dropped in Kerla

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The All Kerala Bus Operators Organisation has decided to drop its plan for strike from Wednesday following talks with the Transport Minister, Mr R. Balakrishna Pillai, here late on Monday evening.

Announcing this, Mr K. C. Ramachandran, President, and Mr T. Gopinath, General Secretary of the organisation, said that the decision was taken on the basis of the Transport Minister giving an undertaking, which committed him to find an amicable settlement to their demands, including fare revision, by July 21. The Kerala State Private Bus Operators Federation, which met here on Tuesday, endorsed the decision to call off the proposed strike.
