Thiruvananthapuram , July 16

STATE Bank of Travancore (SBT) has gone `live' with the real time gross settlement system (RTGS) from Friday.

In the initial phase, bank-to-bank payments will get the benefit of this system, says a press release. The new system will enable immediate utilisation of funds as settlement is effected continuously, in real-time, the release adds. In time, the RTGS facility will also be offered to SBT's customers for inter-bank money transfers.
