Perambalur agri schemes

MADURAI: The State-level Co-ordination Committee has cleared 16 agro-industry proposals at an outlay of Rs 7.90 crore under New Anna Marumalarchi Thittam in Perambalur district.

According to the district collector, Mr D. Vivekanadan, the clearance included a subsidy component of Rs 1.18 crore. While a milk chilling plant has already started functioning, three units at an outlay of Rs 1.50 crore will be commencing production by the end of this year.

These relate to a sago unit at Rs 80 lakh, a milk chilling plant at Rs 40 lakh and an edible oil cum dhal flour unit at Rs 30 lakh.

Five cashew kernel-processing units at an outlay of Rs 1.66 crore are to be set up. Additionally, a fruit-juice plant at an outlay of Rs 25.50 lakh, a milk chilling plant at on outlay of Rs 26 lakh, a modern rice mill at an outlay of Rs 77.75 lakh are coming up.
