19 locations identified for industrial hubs

THE Government has identified 19 locations in the country to build industrial hubs for specified industries under the Industrial Infrastructure Upgradation Scheme of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotions.

This was stated by the Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Mr E.V.K.S. Elangovan, today in the Rajya Sabha.

The locations include Vijayawada for auto component cluster and Hyderabad for pharmaceutical cluster. One gems and jewellery cluster in Surat and a chemical cluster in Vapi in Gujarat; a second auto components cluster in Pune; a steel and metallurgical cluster at Jajpur in Orissa; a textile cluster in Ludhiana and a woollen and woollen garments cluster in Amritsar; a stone cluster at Kisangarh in Rajasthan; another textile cluster in Tirupur and a pump, motor and foundry cluster at Coimbatore ; a ceramic pottery cluster at Khurja and glass cluster at Ferozabad in UP and a food processing cluster in Arunachal.
