Industry Associations FICCI awarded for boosting trade links with Israel Our Bureau
New Delhi , July 21
The Israeli Ambassador, Mr David Danieli, presented the award on behalf of the Government of Israel. Total trade between the two countries for the year 2002-03 stood at $1,246.32 million. To enhance the economic and political ties between the two countries, the FICCI President, Mr Y.K. Modi, led a 15-member business delegation for the India-Israel Joint Business Council meeting and Destination India this January. The event was held simultaneously with the third India-Israel Trade and Economic Committee in Israel. During the visit, FICCI signed MoUs for co-operation with various organisations such as the Manufacturers' Association of Israel, the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce, the Israel Export and International Co-operation Institute and the Israel-Asia Chambers of Commerce.
