Outsourcing Global BPO biz to touch $230 b by 2008: Study Our Bureau
Hyderabad , July 25 THE Indian business process outsourcing and IT enabled services sectors are on course to outpace the IT services business over the next five years as the country is now positioned to garner a big chunk of the global BPO pie, according to Mr Manish Soman, Managing Director of Deloitte Consulting, India. Addressing an interactive session on "Business Process Outsourcing Growing up the Value Chain," Mr Soman said the global BPO business is headed to become a $230-billion opportunity by the year 2008. "However, we need to address the issues relating to trained manpower, quality concerns and scale up the business value chain. It is estimated that a little over 25 per cent of the service providers are handling quality concerns in a very focussed manner and others also need to lay special thrust on this," Mr Soman observed.
