Commodity Exchanges NMCE rubber futures record a new high Our Bureau
Mumbai , July 26 RUBBER futures surged to a new high at the Ahmedabad-based National Multi-Commodity Exchange of India Ltd (NMCE) on July 23, registering a volume of 10,168 tonnes valued at Rs 61.16 crore, according to an exchange release. This is the highest recorded volume ever since the NMCE flagged off rubber futures. The exchange has registered futures volume of 3,61,774 tonnes valued at Rs 2,070 crore during the financial year 2003-04. The volumes have reached 1,41,276 tonnes valued Rs 866.2 crore during the April-June 2004 period. The delivery mechanism of the exchange has so far facilitated rubber delivery of over 1540 tonnes in the last 15 months i.e. from April 2003 to June 2004.
