SBI Aadi offer gets big response

Our Bureau

Coimbatore , July 28

STATE Bank of India's `Aadi' offer has evoked a good response. The bank has received nearly 6,000 applications during the three-day loan mela that concluded here on Tuesday night. If these enquiries are eventually honoured, the sanctions could amount to Rs175 crore, SBI sources told Business Line.

The demand for home loans has topped the list, with several applications for the `irresistible' offer of a 0.25 percentage-point cut in the interest rate. Demand for crop loan advances also, bank sources said, was fairly huge.

Of the eight centres where the loan mela was organised, the enquiries at the Pollachi Centre is said to be higher.
