Canara Bank pact with Plastro for financing irrigation equipments

BANGALORE, Aug 2

Canara Bank has signed a pact with micro-irrigation equipment maker Plastro Plasson Industries (India) Ltd for financing of micro-irrigation equipments to farmers, a bank statement said.

Under the pact, Canara Bank would now become the preferred financier for installing of micro-irrigation equipment supplied by the company to the farmers in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Maharashtra.

The tenure of loan extended under this scheme would be 10 to 15 years. Plastro Plasson will assist in credit delivery with its dealer network. They will also provide the technical know how to the farmers in design of the system and its scientific use. The bank has a clientele base of more than 12,00,000 farmers.
