Rubber steady despite resistance

STRONG buyer resistance and the absence of major manufactures failed to depress the spot rubber prices on Friday. All the grades closed steady while the arrivals were almost nil on intensified rains all over the State. Futures market weakened on fresh selling and profit booking from traders. The August delivery was quoted at Rs 59.51(60.76), September delivery at Rs 55.50 (55.99), October delivery at Rs 53.97 (53.97) and November delivery at Rs 53.07 (53.36) per kg for RSS 4. The volumes were moderate.

The spot market rates per kg on Friday are RSS 4 59.00 (59.00) RSS 5 56.50 (56.50) Ungraded 55.00 (55.00) ISNR 20 52.50 (52.50) Latex 60% 40.00 (40.00)
