THE Designated Authority in the Commerce Ministry has recommended the continuance of definitive anti-dumping duty on imported Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) from Japan, South Korea and US, after undertaking a sunset review of its earlier decision.
In its recent notification, the Authority held that SBR 1900 series originating in or exported from South Korea, Japan and the US had been exported to India below normal value, resulting in dumping. As the domestic industry is suffering from material injury with dumping of the subject goods also continuing from the subject countries, the Authority said that the material injury to the domestic industry might continue and intensify if anti-dumping duty is removed.
Hence, it recommended a set of revised definitive anti-dumping duty at $0.0689 per kg in the case of companies exporting from South Korea, $0.01045 per kg in the case of Japan and $0.197 in the case of US.
