Southern Rly to introduce mobile reservation system in T'puram division

Our Bureau

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Southern Railway proposes to introduce a Mobile Computerised Passenger Reservation System (MPRS) in the Thiruvananthapuram Railway Division on a trial basis.

In what is being touted as a bid to serve passengers in a customer-friendly way during the Silver Jubilee year, a computerised reservation system is sought to be mounted on a van and moved to various locations.

According to the Divisional Manager, Mr G. Narayanan, passengers would not have to commute to the station for reserving the tickets. The MPRS would be progressively extended to other selected places in the Division as well, he added.
