Chennai , Aug. 18

HEXAWARE Technologies Ltd plans to set up a development centre near Chennai.

It has acquired about 25 acres of land at Siruseri Industrial Park on the Old Mahabalipuram Road, Chennai's information technology corridor. The investment in the land would be around Rs 5 crore, Mr Atul Nishar, Chairman, Hexaware, has said.

In an informal chat with newspersons here, Mr Nishar said that formalities to acquire the land at Siruseri were completed a couple of days ago, and the company would start constructing a campus in a few months.

Hexaware, a software service provider, has also set up another development centre in the city. The new centre is located adjacent to the company's facility in T. Nagar, where about 600 employees are working. The new facility could accommodate about 400 employees, he said. "Chennai is the biggest centre for Hexaware, and would remain so in future. About 300 projects for various clients are being done out of Chennai," he said.
