Software CSC plans India expansion Our Bureau

Hyderabad , Aug. 18 COMPUTER Sciences Corporation (CSC), the $15-billion IT services provider, is expanding its IT global infrastructure services (GIS) team in India to provide technology support to its clients across the globe as a part of its "World Sourcing Strategy". Significantly, this would mean, a lot more work for Indian operations covering various practices of healthcare, financial services, retail and chemical. The Director of GIS (Global Infrastructure Services) Global Resourcing, Computer Sciences Corporation, Mr Brain J. Manning, said, "CSC's remote infrastructure management services, offered from India, are part of CSC's global delivery model. Our resources in Indian partner with global CSC resources to deliver seamless and integrated global infrastructure solutions to clients." "With the India expansion, particularly in Hyderabad and Noida, CSC has integrated its development-cum-support centres with global operations. This has enabled the company to handle more work out of India that now encompasses all areas of IT services. In effect, we would be able to handle more work out of India and possibly also take care of several large clients from Europe," Mr Manning said. The Vice-President of CSC India, Mr M.V. Sarma, said in tune with the company's decision to expand India operations, we expect the Indian headcount to go up from about 1,800 to 3,000 shortly with significant part in the Hyderabad operations. The company has expanded in Hitec City with a 160,000 sq. ft facility."
