Rising inflation

This is with reference to "Inflation dynamics: Why fight shy of it?" (Business Line, August 19). As rightly pointed out in the article, it is high time that the current and expected inflation rates are tracked.

Also, inflation expectations surveys have to be undertaken, as in some countries, and expectation models need to be generated. The Centre and the Reserve Bank of India should formulate credible policy approaches to tackle the problem at the earliest.
