Assocham calls for early end to truckers' strike

Our Bureau

New Delhi , Aug. 23

THE industry has called for serious efforts to end the ongoing transporters strike. It said the strike affected the delivery of export orders and the supply of essential commodities.

Some of the constituents of the Assocham belonging to the export community complained that their export delivery schedules have run into difficulties due to the strike.

If the strike continues, the exporters will lose huge export orders resulting in massive foreign exchange loss to the exchequer as importers of Indian goods will change their export destination, said the Assocham President, Mr Mahendra K. Sanghi, in a statement here on Sunday.
