YSR fiat on cloud-seeding operation

HYDERABAD: Dr Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, has directed officials to intensify cloud-seeding efforts by taking up warm cloud seeding in a big way.

At a review meeting on cloud seeding and bio-diesel programmes, he asked the officials to involve agencies such as SC Corporation for the implementation of the programme in the seven districts for the purpose. Each district would have plantations in 10,000 acres depending on the availability of good seeds.

He advised the officials to joint forest management programme through Vana Samrakshana Samithis to take up plantation duly mixing jatropha and pongamia.
