Paper, Board & Newsprint BILT net rises 36 pc; plans to up capacity Our Bureau
New Delhi , Aug. 25 BALLARPUR Industries Ltd (BILT) plans to add 35,000 tonnes of paper capacity this year and double it by 2008-09, the Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Gautam Thapar, said here on Wednesday. The company's paper-making capacity at present is 388,000 tonnes. BILT also declared results for 2003-04. It posted a 36 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 134 crore on 6 per cent higher revenues at Rs 2,244.2 crore for the 12 months ending June 30, 2004. The company has declared Rs 46 crore as dividend. For the fourth quarter ending June 30, 2004, it declared 21 per cent higher net profit at Rs 37.3 crore on Rs 585.20-crore sales. "The current year's results are a reflection of a strong company performance supported by a positive industry cycle. These helped us achieve our objectives of increasing operational efficiencies and improving our market share, " Mr Thapar said.
