Jute fair opens in Kochi

KOCHI: The Jute Manufacturing Development Council of India (JMDC), the national agency responsible for promotion of jute, is organising a `Jute Fair' and an exhibition-cum-sale of eco-friendly jute products here from August 30 to September 5.

The event was inaugurated by Mr C. M. Dinesh Mani, Mayor of Kochi on Monday. In the light of the "growing environment concerning issues, we feel it obligatory to suggest that jute products are becoming as an alternative consumer material/s of daily use," said an official release.
