Hyderabad , Sept. 6

THE Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (APTransco) has finalised a master plan to expedite the ongoing transmission and distribution projects in various parts of the State, according to an APTransco press release here on Monday.

As part of the this plan, top priority will be given to the completion of 400-KV substations and lines in Vemagiri, Nellore, Chittoor, Mahabubnagar, Ditchpally, Gajwel and Narsaraopet at a cost of Rs 791 crore.

These works are being funded by the Power Finance Corporation, Rural Electrification Corporation and Japan Bank for International Co-operation. The completion of these works will improve power supply and eliminate the low voltage problem.

The press release said the power transformer capacities would be increased in the current year at a cost of Rs 187 crore.

Besides, APTransco will invest Rs 250 crore to establish 36 more substations and lay transmission lines of 1,150 circuit km in 2005-06.
