Over 40 cos to take part in Dubai IT expo

OVER 40 Indian IT companies (both software and hardware) will be participating under the aegis of the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council (ESC), at the Gitex expo to be held in Dubai in October.

This would be one of the largest participation by Indian IT companies in any IT event around the world during 2004, said Mr Kamal Vachani, Regional Director of ESC for the UAE and West Asia. He said companies the world over had evinced interest in products and solutions available in India, and the West Asian markets hold tremendous potential for Indian companies.

Electronics and computer software/services accounts for over 15 per cent in India's over all exports. Export of electronics and computer software/services touched $14.28 billion during 2003-04. The participants in the India pavilion at Gitex will be displaying IT and telecom hardware.
