Bajaj to launch `Discover'

Our Bureau

VISAKHAPATNAM: Bajaj Auto Ltd is planning to launch a new bike called Discover - a 125 cc vehicle in the executive segment - by Deepavali in the northern markets and by Sankranti in the southern markets, according to Mr K.S. Grihapathy, General Manager.

Mr Grihapathy was addressing a press meet on Wednesday after inaugurating the Varun Bajaj service centre here. He said the vehicle would enable the company to consolidate further its hold on the market. He refused to divulge the price and other details, but said it would give 65 km mileage.

He said CT-100 was doing exceedingly well and more than 2 lakh vehicles had been sold so far and Pulsar was also doing well in the premium segment. ``With the launch of Discover, we are confident of making further strides,'' he said.

``We have 30 per cent market share in Visakhapatnam and 40 per cent in Vijayawada and Krishna district. Varun is one of our best dealers,'' Mr Grihapathy said.

He said the company was standardising the service centres and showrooms across the country and striving to give the customer excellent service.
