BSNL's new Net service scheme

Our Correspondent

Madurai , Sept. 10

AN accountless Internet service based on calling line identification has been introduced in the Tiruchi telecom district.

According to a BSNL release, under the service, access would be provided to Internet only for those subscribers under the public switched telephone network (PSTN), at the usual rates charged on telephone lines.

The salient features of the new service include a post-paid scheme, a `pay-as-you-use' facility and surfing of the Internet at 10 paise a minute, in addition to the usual telephone charges. As free on line registration is facilitated, individuals need not fill forms separately. While misuse of account is avoided, the Internet bill is provided along with the telephone bill.

Further, downloading of a Netone dialler is allowed.

Tiruchi SDCA PSTN customers can access the service of 0431-172222, the re.lease said.
