Meet on e-governance in AP

HYDERABAD: The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Dr Y.S. Rajashekara Reddy, will inaugurate a two-day "National Conference on e-governance" on Saturday that would seek to address various concerns about streamlining the administrative mechanism and tackling issues related to citizen's lifecycle by leveraging information technology.

The conference would also host tutorials on disaster recovery and e-security, which are being actively debated and engaging policymakers.

Addressing a press conference here on Friday, the Chairman of the Institute of Electronics and Telecommunications Engineers (IETE), Mr C. Govardhan, said areas such as automation of government systems and online delivery of government services, migration of government to Internet environment and application of technology to reduce costs and improve efficiency would be among areas of focus under the e-governance.
