Kerala plantation workers launch stir

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Plantation workers have launched an indefinite strike demanding pay revision, restoration of DA, implementation of welfare scheme for the workers of small plantations and easing of workload.

Meanwhile, the State Government has convened a meeting of the Plantation Labour Committee here on Wednesday. It is scheduled to be held at the Labour Commissioner's office in the morning and later, in the evening, at the Secretariat Durbar Hall, in the presence of the Labour Minister.
