Rubber Rubber rises as exporters turn active Our Correspondent
Kottayam , Sept. 15 SPOT rubber prices improved on Wednesday. Exporters turned more active while certain tyre companies were also reported to be buying sheet rubber at the prevailing rates. All the grades moved up on all round buying and there has not been any selling pressure from growers as in the previous days. RSS 4 closed at Rs 49.50 a kg against Rs 49 on Tuesday. The futures market maintained the positive trend even after a weak TOCOM closing. The September delivery was quoted at Rs 53.50 (53.39), October delivery at Rs 51.39 (51.15), November delivery at Rs 51.51 (51.25) and December delivery at Rs 51.45 (51.33) per kg for RSS 4. The September futures for RSS 3 weakened to 138 yen from 138.4 yen a kg at TOCOM. At Bangkok, RSS 3 was steady at Rs 56.67 a kg as on Tuesday Following were the spot market rates per kg: RSS 4 49.50 (49); RSS 5 48 (47.50); ungraded 47.25(46.50); ISNR 20 46.75 (46.50); latex 60 per cent 37.50(37).
