Tirupur knit fair to open on Oct. 6

THE knitwear fair for the autumn/winter/mid-summer collection 2005, the 19th edition under the India Knit Fair banner, will open on October 6.
The three-day international fair will be inaugurated by the Secretary, Union Ministry of Textiles, Mr Wajahat Habibullah.
The organisers of the fair, the apparel export promotion council (AEPC) and the Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA), will also host an interactive session in the form of a symposium on `Knitwear exports after 2004.'
Giving out the details of the fair itinerary, the Chairman of the India Knit Fair Association and President of TEA, Mr A. Sakthivel, said over 50 leading garment exporters would display their knitwear collections in this year's fair which is also expected to attract a sizeable first time buyers into Tirupur.
Synchronising the fair events, fashion shows choreographed by the Chennai-based VIBA would be held on all three days at the fair venue.
