Spot rubber prices weaken

SPOT rubber prices weakened on Wednesday.

As the covering purchases narrowed down, the market reacted slightly though exporters were reported to be buying at current levels.

Sheet rubber RSS 4 closed at Rs 50.25 against Rs 50.50 a kg on Tuesday.

There was not much considerable selling pressure from the producing sector in the market. ISNR 20 and latex were steady but inactive.

The futures market showed a better trend quoting the near month October delivery at Rs 51.80 (Rs 51.68) a kg with moderate volumes.

The November delivery was quoted at Rs 52.75 (Rs 52.36), December delivery at Rs 52.82 (Rs 52.37) and January delivery at Rs 53.75 (Rs 53.35) per kg for RSS 4.

At Bangkok, RSS 3 was steady at Rs 57.33 as on Tuesday.

The October futures for RSS 3 closed at 139.2 yen against 139.5 yen a kg at TOCOM.

The spot market rates per kg were: RSS 4 50.25 (50.50); RSS 5 49.25 (49.50); ungraded 47.50 (48.00); ISNR 20 48.50 (48.50); latex 60 per cent 38.50 (38.50).
