Good demand for teas in Kochi sale

A GOOD demand resulted in the spurting of prices of almost all varieties at the Kochi Tea Auction.

Of the 7.03 lakh kg on offer in the dust varieties, low priced CTCs witnessed a steady to firm market. The best CTC varieties commanded prices between Rs 60 and Rs 78, medium CTC realised Rs 55-58 and poorer type quoted Rs 45-52. Highgrown BOPD fetched Rs 94, while medium BOPD quoted Rs 45-46. Secondaries realised Rs 40.

The leaf sale also witnessed a good demand and the quantity on offer was 3.20 lakh kg.
