TN: Sugar mill privatisation flayed

MADURAI: Members of the opposition parties in Tamil Nadu led by the former Minister and Kumbakonam MLA, Mr Ko.Si. Mani, staged a demonstration at Thanjavur, protesting the move to privatise the State Government-owned Arignar Anna Sugar Factory at Kurunkulam.

Mr Mani said that Indian Overseas Bank, the operating agency, had called for bids to take over the management of the mill. The State Government should continue its control over the mills, he demanded.
