New Delhi , Sept. 27

FLYING late in the night on the Mumbai-Delhi-Mumbai or the Delhi-Bangalore-Delhi sectors from October this year is set to become cheaper by about 40-80 per cent compared to the existing economy class fares.

Jet Airways is to introduce special `night saver fares' under which a passenger travelling on the Mumbai-Delhi or return sector could pay anything between Rs 1,700 and Rs 4,250. The new fares come into effect from October 1.

Similarly, a passenger travelling on the Delhi-Bangalore or the return sector under the scheme will pay between Rs 2,000 and Rs 5,850. The new fare on this sector comes into effect from October 6.

The new fares, to be available in five different ascending levels on the airline's night saver flights, will be booked and confirmed on a first-come first-served basis, the airline said in a statement.

On the Delhi-Bangalore sector, the new fare will be available on flight 9W 819 which leaves Delhi at 10.30 p.m. and arrives in Bangalore at 1.05 a.m.
