Concor resumes handling at Coimbatore

Coimbatore , Oct. 7

CONTAINER Corporation of India Ltd (Concor), which had suspended export/import handling here since last Saturday, has decided to resume work immediately at its existing premises inside the Coimbatore railway junction.

Concor has issued a notice on October 6intimating the trade on its decision to withdraw its October 2notice and restore work.

Members of the Coimbatore Custom House and Steamer Agents Association, who were opposing the ICD work stoppage, had a meeting with the officials of Concor ICD. Similarly, the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore, has also written to the Railway Ministry. The chamber requested that Concor's operation at the Coimbatore Railway station should be continued in the interests of the exporters and importers till all the infrastructure at Concor's Irugur complex is in place.
