Two-day economic seminar in Kottayam

KOTTAYAM: A two day national economic seminar on `Emerging Trends in the Banking and Insurance Sectors in India' will be conducted on October 18 and 19 under the auspices of Department of Economics, St. Thomas College, Pala.

The objective of the national seminar is to review the policies followed by banking and insurance sectors and the related changes made at various levels. The role of banks and insurance institutions in the new social order with special emphasis on resent trends and its response on developments and society would be subjected to detailed discussions.

Mr. K.V.Thomas, Faculty Member, LIC Zonal Training Centre, New Delhi, will present a paper on `Insurance sector-pre nationalisation and recent developments.' The talk to be delivered by Mr.N.M. Sundaram, President All India Insurance Employees Association would be based on ' Impact of policy changes in the Insurance sector in post reforms period on economic development and social justice.'
