Markets - Stock Markets

Don't call it quits because of bad Q2

Governors may go as fast as SMS, and CMs may come as slow as delayed trains, but what matters for Khan and his gang of Jogin, Sridevi and Dakshinamoorthy is the Sunday chat about markets. Sit up!

Sri: I filled up my fuel tank after sharp decline in IOC,

BPCL and HPCL Q2s.

Dax: Price hike will do them good may be soon. I'm

waiting for NTPC listing on Nov 5.

Kay: Long-term advice: HLL. Quarter may be the worst

but FIIs are buying.

Jog: SRF had bad Q2 but the stock is firm

because of anti-dumping duty on nylon tyre

cord - a product that contributes to SRF's

kitty.

Dax: Welspun Guj too had poor Q2. Take

positions. It has Rs 800 crore orders.

Kay: Dabur's good for short term. Now at

80, going on to 85 -90 level soon. Don't ask

why, or when!

Sri: Timex Watches is low-priced stock but attractive as

a turnaround story.

Jog: Positive about Sona Koyo. Planning a new dedicated

unit to cater to Hyundai.

Sri: Tata Tea for short term. Now at 409.95 fallen from 440

a month ago. Shall I take a chance?

Kay: With tea, take sugar, Sri, Upper Ganges Sugar.

Consolidation of capacities! :-)

Dax: China bikes and gensets are no more hype! I'm

worried about new thermal plant in WB.

Jog: Quality China power at low cost, they say. There're

pluses and minuses. :-|

Kay: Bongaigaon Refinery will announce interim

dividend next week, say, Rs 5?

Dax: For full year, expected Rs 9-10? So currently stock is

trading at dividend yield of around 10 pc.

Sri: Mid-cap stocks are expected to rule the market next

week. Just my opinion.

Jog: Markets may trade in a narrow band with no triggers

unless crude price falls.

Kay: Chart patterns point to weak trends in most pivotal

stocks as well as Nifty. Watch out!

Dax: FIIs have been trading heavily, but net inflows have

been modest. If they stay as net sellers, like they were

towards the end of last week, market sentiment could

dampen. Hey, it's raining!
