TCS, AP agency in pact for digital certification

TATA Consultancy Services— Certifying Authority (TCS-CA), a public key infrastructure (PKI) service provider, has entered into a partnership with Andhra Pradesh Technology Services (APTS), the nodal agency for the AP Government in information technology, to enable generate PKI-based co-branded digital signatures.

An MoU was signed by the Managing Director of APTS, Mr Randeep Sudan, and the Regional Head, TCS, Mr Rajesh Nambiar. The pact is the first such initiative by a State Government to popularise use of digital signatures in e-governance applications.

The Executive Vice-President and Head of Advanced Technology Centre, Dr M. Vidyasagar, said "TCS has extended its digital certification and PKI enabling services to organisations across industry domains such as government, banking, financial services and telecom. We have more than 30 organisations under TCS-CA Trust Network as Sub CAs and over 50 organisations avail our PKI enabling solutions. This arrangement will enable electronic applications to be authenticated with digital signatures."
