Credit Policy

This is with reference to "Credit Policy — RBI prefers to wait and watch" (Business Line, November 4). As rightly pointed out in the article, any increase in the interest rates at this stage would have hampered the growth of industry in the country.

However, the Reserve Bank of India appears to have been a little too cautious on some issues. The Credit Policy needs some tinkering to be more effective.
