Alliances & Joint Ventures Vocational training software TCS ties up with Australian firm Our Bureau
Mumbai , Nov. 5 TCS today announced that it had signed an agreement with the Australia-based TAFE Global to introduce vocational training software to build and develop skills in workforce in India and internationally. At a ceremony at New South Wales (NSW), the two companies announced the consolidation of their relationship for the introduction of skills training strategy, according to a TCS release. "TCS has recognised the need to develop skills in accordance with industry best practices. The partners have agreed to brand their relationships as 3Ti to signify the TCS TAFE Training initiative." This agreement identifies four initial fields for co-operation in vocational training: automotive, healthcare, white goods and English language in the workplace. Under the 3Ti, the parties have agreed on four projects to transfer the knowhow and training quality standards, products and services of TAFE NSW to the Indian training environment through TCS both within the Tata group and beyond. The presence of both parties in the global marketplace will be used to market the capability of 3Ti internationally, said the release. The coming together of the two brands to underpin 3Ti will be major market strength. A key feature will be the strict application of TCS TAFE quality standards to all projects. Mr S. Ramadorai, MD & CEO, TCS, said: "The TCS brand and the international recognition of TAFE qualification are a formidable combination. TCS feels that it is critical that the skill development of people in the workplace should be within the structured and quality-assured environment where certification is of international standard." He added: "Our relationship has grown from the signing off an MoU in Sydney a month back and our target is to implement our first programmes in early 2005." TAFE Global is incorporated in New South Wales and is wholly owned by the New South Wales Technical and Further Education Commission, whose role is to market and service the provision of educational products and related services to international markets.
