New Delhi , Nov. 8

OVER fifteen Chinese software companies are in talks with their Indian counterparts for entering into joint ventures in areas such as promotion of software development, IT and telecom.

"Chinese companies are keen to promote joint ventures to commonly compete with the international players and both the countries should jointly identify areas for tie-ups in business process outsourcing (BPO) and knowledge process outsourcing (KPO)," Mr Wu Yi Min, Chairman of the Guangzhou Municipal Committee, who is leading a 20-member IT delegation to India, said.

The Indian companies presently in talks include CMC, Cosmos Group and 21st Century, the release said. To facilitate such ventures, Assocham and the Guangzhou Standing Committee of CPC China have decided to set up nodal agencies, an Assocham statement said here today.

The Chinese companies, which have initiated an exercise for setting up joint venture projects in either country, include Tianhe Software Park, Timhe Software Park, Guangzhou Radio group, Guangzhou Huawei Software Co and Guangzhou Maywide Technology Co Ltd.
