Nabard sanctions Rs 63 cr for TN

THE National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) has sanctioned Rs 63.35 crore to Tamil Nadu under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) - X, according to a press release from the bank.

The total outlay for the projects relating to minor irrigation and rural roads and bridges is Rs 71.30 crore.

It has sanctioned Rs 40.02 crore for 16 irrigation projects in Tirunelveli, Tuticorin, Dharmapuri, Krishnagiri, Coimbatore and Tiruvannamalai districts.

For roads and bridges, the bank has sanctioned Rs 23.33 crore for projects in 18 districts.

These will provide connectivity to 326 villages and 176 marketing centres.

Since inception of the RIDF, the cumulative sanction to Tamil Nadu is Rs 2,502.11 crore with the cumulative disbursement being Rs 1,744.91 crore.
