Chennai , Dec. 30

STANDARD Electric Appliances, manufacturers of Venus brand of water heaters, has been renamed as Venus Home Appliances (P) Ltd, and has entered the mixer grinder segment.

The company has launched two products of mixer grinders — Magicmix and Duramix.

The Magicmix mixer grinder comes with Superflow technology and flow breaker jars that direct the contents to the centre of the jar and down towards the rotating blades.

This ensures faster and finer grinding of contents, said Mr I. Ramkumar, Director, Sales, Venus Home Appliances.

Duramix comes with shock, rust and scratchproof blades and is powered by a 550-watt motor. Both the products come with a two-year warranty.

Magicmix is priced at Rs 2,690 and Duramix at Rs 2,390, he told presspersons.

The company is targeting a turnover of Rs 50 crore for the fiscal 2005-06, of which 10 per cent would come from mixer grinders, he said.
