Residential school in Mysore gets Hudco funding

THE promoters of Jnanasarovara international residential school near Mysore have roped in HUDCO to partly fund their school project worth Rs 40 crore.
The school's chairman, Mr Sudhakar S. Shetty, said Rs 20 crore has already been invested in the project, which is being part-financed by HUDCO. Another Rs 20 crore will be invested for the expansion of the project.
Mr Shetty said the school which is spread over 65 acres is being expanded in two phases. In each of the two phases, around 400 students can be accommodated. While the first phase is nearing completion, the second phase will be completed in three years.
He said currently, there are 22 teachers and 47 students in the school. The school which follows the ICSE syllabus will have a teacher, student ratio of 1: 8.
Mr Shetty said the project also involves setting up of a school for the economically backward, called Jnananidhi. Around 100 students in this day school will get free education.
The school also proposes to introduce IGCSE O level and ICE A level courses followed by IBO's international diploma programme which will help the students to study abroad in universities of their choice.
Mr Shetty said the school will have an Olympic standard swimming pool and 400 m athletic track conforming to international standards. As part of extra-curricular activities, students will be offered courses in event management, automobile servicing and photography.
